United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and ‘2-1-1’ (Middle
Tennessee’s community services help line) are pleased to
announce the availability of printed copies of the
Community Services Directory. This valuable and trusted
resource includes more than 4,000 programs found in the
2-1-1 database and is a handy reference tool for
schools, hospitals, social workers, congregations and
anyone providing help to those in need.
The single volume directory lists agencies and their
programs and includes information from nonprofit,
governmental and religious organizations across 22
Tennessee counties. The counties covered are: Bedford,
Cannon, Cheatham, Coffee, Davidson, DeKalb, Dickson,
Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Macon, Marshal, Maury,
Montgomery, Roberson, Rutherford, Smith, Stewart,
Sumner, Trousdale, Williamson and Wilson.
This is the first update to the directory since 2003. To
order a copy, dial 2-1-1.
Users may also dial 2-1-1, which is sponsored by AmSouth
Bank, and speak directly to an information and referral
specialist for a wide range of health and human services
needs such as job training, after-school tutoring
programs, drug rehab, senior assistance, food clothing
and shelter, and much more. The free telephone help line
is available year-round 24 hours a day – 7 days a week,
confidential and offers help in 153 languages.
